From History to Action: International Literacy Day at Madania.

Every September 8th, the world celebrates International Literacy Day. This day was created by UNESCO in 1966 to highlight the importance of reading and writing and to fight against illiteracy worldwide. At that time, many people did not have the chance to learn how to read or write.

Today, the meaning of literacy has grown, and so has our commitment at Madania. We believe literacy is more than just ability to write and read, it is essential to Madania Learner Profile. A good reader is also a critical thinker who questions ideas, an inquirer who seeks knowledge, and a confident communicator who can express their thoughts clearly.

To show our dedication, we welcome International Literacy Day 2025 by launching Book & Breeze. This program is not just about reading, it’s about making reading a joyful activity, connecting with nature, and encouraging our students to love books. Happy International Literacy Day!
